DAY 1

Port Howard

We will meet you at Mount Pleasant Airport (early afternoon arrival), part of the Mount Pleasant Military Complex (MPC), in the Malvinas Islands. Flight by Britten-Norman Islander aircraft to Port Howard. This place was occupied by argentinian soldiers. If we are lucky, we will be able to see some dolphins in the dock. Night at Port Howard Lodge, next to a small 1982 war museum.

DAY 2

The penguin colonies

Full day visit around Port Howard and Hill Cove. Several interesting places can be visited, such as the remains of an Argentine plane downed in 1982 and a cradle of fossils over 350 million years. You can also visit Roy Cove, Fox Bay, Hawksnest Lagoon, with 18 birds species including the black-necked swan, and penguin colonies. The places to visit depend on the group interests.

DAY 3

Sea Lion Island

Flight by Britten-Norman Islander aircraft to Sea Lion Island. An introductory and orientation 4×4 tour will be done upon arrival. We will point out the principle areas of interest, however, everything is located walking distance from the lodge. A map and guidelines for safe wildlife viewing are given out on arrival. Lots of animals can be seen in this island, such as hawks, penguin colonies (gentoo and yellow feathers), sea lions and sea elephants. Night at Sea Lion Lodge.

DAY 4

Patagonia´s nature

Free day to enjoy the wildlife around Sea Lion Island. We recommend you to walk to the yellow feathers penguin colony and appreciate the new tussac plantations. Tussac is a characteristic plant of the islands, which was almost entirely devastated by the sheep that dominated the island’s economy years ago.

DAY 5

Stanley

Flight by Britten-Norman Islander aircraft to Stanley. Free day to visit on your own the small capital city of the Malvinas Islands (2.000 inhabitants), Ross Road, the Cathedral, Whalebone Arch, the Government House, and the 1914 and 1982 Memorials. A visit to the Falkland Islands Museum and Gypsy Cove is also recommended.

DAY 6

Volunteer Point

Full day guided excursion in 4X4 to Volunteer Point. The white sandy beach and the turquoise waters makes you feel in the Caribbean, but the king, magallanes and gentoo penguins will bring you back to the Malvinas Islands. This place is one of the most visitated places in the islands. The ride to Volunteer Point can take more than two hours, but this will be one of the best parts of the trip.

DAY 7

Darwin And Goose Green

Full day battlefield tour around Darwin and Goose Green, where in 1982 heavy fights took place between Argentina and the United Kingdom. We will travel through the geography that witnessed the courage of so many soldiers and the memorials that honour them. We will visit the Argentine Cemetery in Darwin and the British Cemetery in San Carlos.
