Operating System: User Interface

The operating system's software suite receives information sent by the application software and places it on a digital image that will be sent to the hardware via a driver. In addition, another set of programs accepts operations performed by the user through pilots and then transmits them to the appropriate software. These two sets create a human-machine interface that allows the user to communicate with the machine.

The operating system can communicate with the user through another computer or terminal (distributed interface). The information sent by the application software will then be sent to another computer according to the protocol provided for this purpose, while the other computer will send the operations performed by the user. See SSH, RFB or X Window System.

When the interface is in text mode, the digital image is a grid in which printed characters are placed, the grid usually consists of 80 columns and 35 rows. The interface is controlled via the keyboard. This type of interface, which has existed since the very beginning of computing [ N3 ], has now been replaced by graphical interfaces.

Graphical interface
In the Graphical User Interface (GUI), a digital image is created by an operating system program by superimposing dots, lines, pictographs, and printing. The interface is usually handled with a mouse in accordance with the WIMP principle (English Windows, icons, menus, and a pointer device). A digital image is created using a computer graphics processor.

During mouse operations, the operating system moves an image element, i.e. the pointer, and performs the calculations necessary to determine which image element is located just below. Each image element can be associated with a program. A widget is a program that draws and animates an image element, the appearance can be of a push button, with a light indicator, elevator, text area, menu, etc. The operating system provides various widgets.

Programs for the graphical user interface are included in all modern operating systems today (2011). Window System X is a set of graphical user interfaces included in all Unix family operating systems. For Windows, the equivalent is the Explorer program, also called Windows Explorer (not to be confused with Internet Explorer). Poker players receive 100% bonus up to $100 with
